Fleeting Consumer

Fleeting Consumer

A Chapter by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

about the consumer culture in America

"

I just don’t understand

Why humans do what they do

Buying and selling useless things

Hoping their trinkets will give them meaning

The more they seem to buy

Prices grow to the sky

Others will have while others have not

It doesn’t make sense to me

Humans accumulate everything

Only to end up with nothing

They’ll put aside morality

Just to gain and spend money

All that I really want

A place to grow a garden

Have enough time to look at the sky

Partake in this life that’s zooming by

I’m not muck like them

We have only God in common

I don’t need to consume

I feel alone surrounded by humans

The less I have the more I know

In the spirit I grow

This earth life is a blink of an eye

Why cling to things that have no value?

Consuming wont help you not to die

Consuming wont help you not to die
