I Knew You Knew

I Knew You Knew

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

About reflection

"

Funny how we spent so much time

Playing around in each others minds

Never knowing that we were strangers

Looking back doesn’t amuse me

Nothing we did was funny

All the chips down illusions gone now

I wish I knew you

I wish you knew me

Before we parted for eternity

Funny how the clouds roll by

They have the answers I don’t know why

I would like to be them for a weekend

I wonder what became of you

My stranger fades in blue

What does it matter now?

No words to say anyhow

I wish I knew you

I wish you knew me

Before we parted for eternity

We never saw it coming

But it did
