Peace War

Peace War

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

about the whole irony of loving peace while marching towards destruction

"

Give peace a chance

They sang ten years ago

A tribute to the great English New Yorker

Imagine they hummed

Holding candles and pictures of Lennon

But the words they chorused fell on deaf ears

Soon after the concert ended

They went home and rested

When the sun rose they headed to war

United States you must decide

The laws of heaven or the laws of hell

You must stop walking on the gray line

Cheering for the peacenik martyrs

While spilling blood on every side
