Let's Collaborate!

Let's Collaborate!

A Poem by Pestonjee
"

I often wish for this :)

"

Shy girl with the loaded gun
It's time for us to have some fun
I love your words and you love mine
A poem would be oh so fine!

This virtual lane is full of steam
My love is bursting at the seams
So let's just not leave it to fate
Ooh come on girl, let's collaborate

And this is how we should begin
This sweetly soulful ditty of sin
You touch me here, I touch you there

Do hold that pout and flick your hair

You know I’m a visual kind of poet

A hot pic of you’d so help this duet

Uff! Show me those bodacious bombs
My bard will bob and chuck his tomb

I know you want us to align

And steal me of my lovely lines

It’s easy if you tease me long

Just smother me in lacy thongs

With a waist as pliant as silk twine
Those eyes that slosh with Merlot wine

I’m sure we’ll churn out ballads rich

Just be my sorceress, be my witch

Quick! Pull me down the slippery-slip
Oh! Let me touch those swollen lips

My mockingbird of love doth sing
Oh!  Tie me up in your g-strings

So come on babe, let’s coproduce
Our couplets and our songs to spruce

We’ll blow ‘em off, we’ll knock ‘em dead

Let’s collaborate in sinful red!

Lol! A wonderful piece of satire, Monsieur P! This one flows so smoothly and with a lovely rhythm; just like a collaborative waltz down the page. Even though it concerns collaborative writing, the poem had me thinking of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in action, except with the heat turned up quite a few notches! There are some hilarious lines throughout and it all comes together wonderfully well in the end. It's an excellent satirical achievement. As for the collaborations.....you already know my thoughts on them. They will never be my cup of tea, even if my own opinion on them has me labelled "quiet the wane" by a certain illiterate dunce here! Some delusional fascists can't handle freedom of expression. A wonderful poem, here. Very well written. :))

Very clever and unique rhyming in this one. I do believe something other than poetry's on the speaker's mind.

Ha ha, what wit and so much fun in these lines. There are so many collaborations in the artistic field of dance and song which have been done with such awesome skill, however methinks you are having a poke at poetic twosomes. Once upon a time, many years ago I do confess to being lured into a poetic duet. What a mistake that was. He published after the first draft, before I got a chance to exercise my red pen. I have to tell you the only red on show was the embarrassed cheeks I sported. I love the flow of these lines and it is good to see an AABB rhyming scheme done so well. I also enjoy rhyme and meter as much as free verse. Needless to say, I have never been tempted again to perform another poetic foxtrot. I go solo these days. I don't want to share the ballroom floor :))

Some of your responses here are awesome.

An excellent write of satire and whimsy, sir. Your flow, rhythm and rhyme is extremely well constructed and the theme is hilarious in itself. Collaborations of any kind, poetically or dance require a complete melding of the souls for perfection to be attained. Anything other than that, it all becomes a mess of flailing arms or words and misplaced rhythm. So, I would advise you to leave the collaborations to the Keystone Kops and attain written perfection yourself. Your pen is in fine form, sir. A pleasure to read.

this is quite clever, don't choke on that G-string, they can be quite dangerous.
So can a collaboration in which you give your all to share with her, and she takes the money, all the money and runs off with the verse as well, publishes it under her name alone. And you are left broke and wordless.

Thanks for the read request for this one, pesty. This poem is quite funny so that's a plus. I like light humour myself though I haven't had the time to write any myself lately. As for Collaborations, I always shy away from them as I cannot make myself understood very well. I do admire people who can pull it through but I find such works rare. With this poem you have put me off collabs hahaha. Meow!
