My Future True Love

True love is more than sweet words spoken

It mends the scars of the most heartbroken

Sincere fondness is seen through actions

Which express gratitude, care, and attraction.

 

I have been disappointed, rejected, and used

Which has led me to have severe trust issues

My heart has been played with, put on a shelf

I built walls between the world and myself.

 

But in spite of the many scars on my soul

I know there is hope for someone to love

My heart, my mind, and me as a whole

And make me feel happy, special, and loved.

 

Man will fall in love many times before he finds

The one with whom he'll spend much of his life

As he experiences trials & tribulations of love

He is one step closer to meeting the right one.

 

My future true love, wherever you are

Know that I will protect and care for your heart.
