Lullaby

I was trying to stay up late and write something to put on this site, but I kept falling asleep :( so I came up with this. It seems good now, but I will probably not like it in the morning....ah well.

The sun has descended past the horizon

reluctantly parting with a sigh;

the moon casually rises

to the crest of the night-time sky

 

Peace now reigns; the world is still,

and the passage to sleep is nigh.

tucked away in cozy corners,

we're sent off to a lullaby

 

Eyelids gently flutter to a close,

To enjoy a few hours sweet repose.
