Glass

Glass

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Glass

If the meaning

in the words

escape intrusion,

and a thoughtful tone

sets glass ideals

in motion,

it is the indignity

of standing in space

unprepared for years,

that causes cancer.

The bright peacocks fan,

with one dead feather

for every live three,

it’s the searching

that’s done the most harm.

Being that as it may.

One right turn

and the light is on again,

there will be fun

downtown tonight!

How to get there

is all, wondering.

Just as confusing.

Letting in the sun

doesn’t make it

a sunny day,

a break in the clouds

is more likely.

And a good life leads

not into the anchor

of the ship,

but the patchwork

of the soul.
