Sunflower of Trust

Sunflower of Trust

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

Sunflower of Trust

Aggravated aggression

running as fast as I can,

and getting nowhere.

I just want

a little peace

to call my own.

Or a little piece.

Something substantial

to hold on to,

not the chord

of the last song I

I heard on the radio.

Respect?

Perhaps.

And like a sunflower

of trust,

that grows

in the cracks

of a busy city sidewalk.

I feel it will never happen.

Not for this girl.
