Pantomime

Pantomime

A Poem by Abraxasbird
"

For the performer, upon the worlds stage, an infamous pantomime, and his lovers call

"

You come to me tonight
Scan my eyes,
Surrounded, enthralled
By a superficial environment
Trying to find the depths
Portrayed by the words I have said

And I feel it too,
The depth that could be,
The pain and anxiety
Of knowing
Of an inevitable doom,
Of an inevitable end

But tonight we can be friends,
Holding hands, we can pretend
There will always be tomorrow,
That we are eternal

As I look onto you from the stage
For me, right now this view
Is the ultimate truth,
That with your soft gaze
Hidden in an anonymous audience
I will never be the same

In the dark distance
Your green eyes glitter,
A dawning winter,
The pinnacle of my life
Your soul imprints
The whole of my faith

But you do not tremble,
You do not shiver...
Beautiful woman
Haven't you noticed?
We've already began to fade
As life lays bare her beautiful array

The sun falls away, and we...
You and I, evaporate

Let us be one, if only for a moment,
Here in this place, here on earth
The catacombs for souls hopeful,
Ardent romantics, Persevering artists,
Beautiful Pantomimes,
And a world of once upon a times...

Come hither, my lover
Let me warm you to your depths
Come hither, my lover
Together, we will never descend into the depths...
