Facing the Facts

Facing the Facts

A Poem by AbsintheandBlood

These eyes

Driven
down
ward

Heavy with burden
and visions of hopelessness

These ears

Filled with condescending voices
muffled heartbeats, and the
echoing screams of

"a hollow [ ] child"

This nose

Filled with the scent of
despair
mingled with stale cigarettes
and ¢heap bourbon

This mouth

Dry from a lack of communication
bitter with the taste of
failure

A face of guilt
shame
grief
pain

...and death
