Wreck/Dainty/Korola

Wreck/Dainty/Korola

A Poem by Abyrdun
"

Smaller pieces written spontaneously in reaction to experiences. Wreck/ a very windy day in Portstewart. Dainty/ watching my cat. Korola/ empathising with a sugar cube.

"
Wreck 42

An empty vessel clambers the sea.
The captain is gone, he ceases to be.
Drowned with his title, his pride and his gold;
His thoughts obsolete, and his legend untold.

Dainty 49

Animals
are
short cuts

reality.

Korola 22

I'm slowly dissolving,
day by day,
Inside this salt water
of mediocrity,
I fester and become my surroundings.
My thoughts are no longer my own.
Our thoughts are no longer our own.

I don't know what it is about these poems but I find them to be captivating. They're short yet hold so much, I love the rhyming and the structure and just everything about them. Great work!
