My Awakening

My Awakening

A Poem by Acerbus

This love that was gifted, entangeld and twisted,
defined the definition of why I enlisted,
She cried, went ballistic, was pissed, optimistic
I stabbed at this paper with pen as she flipped s**t,"I'll fix this"
But everytime I tried she'd just b***h at
the fact that I had to say goodbye when I shipped,
How the F**k did you not see
The pain on my face, all the stains on my mask,
Everyday slaved away,
Bloodied hands on the pavement,
Knees f*****g scraped,
another scar for every single effort that I made,
With these cards on my plate how the tables have turned,
Now the tables you flipped are just lessons I've learned,
Ive been tethered and burned and at best I deserve the return of my heart
to my chest and a cure for this mess a concern that has yet to adjourn
now I rest to emerge to this Earth I return

Powerful. No bullshit or cotton candy. Very pure and has a good rhythm that makes it easy to read. Great work, and sorry for your pain.
