The Pier

The Pier

A Poem by Acianciara

The first moment our eyes met,
You lit my world on fire,
Your beautiful gaze I can't forget,
Your love's to all I aspire,
Drunk on your beauty terrible,
For the first time to live I learned,
Life without you--unbearable,
Your love's for all I yearned,
Sun rays shining through the window,
My thoughts turn to you,
Only you could make my heart glow,
Oh make it glow anew,
Your tender gaze lifted the veil,
That long covered my heart,
I'm like a ship without a sail,
Now that we're apart,
The world loses all its allure,
When one color can no longer see,
It's all become too much to endure,
Of this torture I beg to be free,
A sickening of the mind,
My thoughts ever on you,
But never again am I to find,
Our love to be anew.
