Sonnet XIV – Sonnet of death

Sonnet XIV – Sonnet of death

A Poem by Adam Lebzo -RonninWarrior-
"

The title really says it!

"

Roses are red and violets are blue,

But the colour of death is brumous grey,

Stained with sinning, remorse and rotted rue,

The same colours of a sorrowful pray.

Roses are red and violets are blue,

Life wilt fade out, and ashen sky wilt rain,

And cruel bloodless death will hunt me and you,

You’ll leave this earth forcefully or fain.

Roses are red and violets are blue,

Although blue is the fashion of this land,

Nefarious Mors has a darker hue,

And none can defy his lethal command.

Roses are dead and violets are too

And all your mundane days are past and through

yes, this started out so light and got really dark.

much of life is grey...uncertain.

but hopefully we can live life outside of the mundane...and when we die be a bit more ready for it...feeling we have done what we could do to make a difference.

roses eventually die, everything does..

but hopefully we will bloom strong before that happens.

Thank you, Moon :)
This is good. the repetition of the lines "roses are red and violets are blue" gave the piece a certain beat but at the same time it somehow diminish the "dark theme." Nonetheless, you created a dark imagery all throughout.

Thank you, Gabrielle!
I am not sure I understand what you mean by 'diminish the "dark theme."'

Wow. I love how you started it off!
'Roses are red and violets are blue,
But the colour of death is brumous grey,'
Started off like the valentine poem but then BOOM, you changed! I loved it! Its twisted and I like it ;-) Well done!
