About a lonely girl who brought it on herself.

Lonely Girl

 

Birds are nesting in the trees,

mates are walking lovers' lane,

drones are courting their queen bees

as hot coals upon her brain.

 

Here, she sits alone and pleas

to the gods-of-love who reign

over all her fantasies,

but she pleads with them in vain.

 

Once she was a pretty tease

who would cause her lovers pain

leaving them upon their knees

as each flame died on the wane.

 

Now she woos each passing breeze

as a siren gone insane.

It's too late for her to seize

all the chances she has slain.

So, the siren becomes the crone, huh? An interesting take on "that girl" who doesn't appreciate what she has when she has it; who is indelicate with her lovers. Man or woman, we should all take this to heart, because eventually it is too late to seize the chances we have slain. You have written this quite well, my friend. Thought provoking...I feel like I need to make some phone calls to my ex-boyfriends just to make sure that I didn't cause them pain. :)

Thanks, Sarah! Some girls or guys lead others on just to prove to themselves that they have the power to do so without having any intention of following through with what the other expects of them. Lovers must be honest with each other from the get go, and try not to give false impressions that the other is their one and only whereby they are not playing ten other potential one's and only's across town at the same time.

anyway, this write's good, and great. As we human've got heart then it's obvious that we'll got some hurt too... because if we do love then we'd gotta face hate too.... this's universe then whether it's we humans and it's birds/animals/living things are...
