The Old Man Who Hates Chilies: A Limerick Short

The Old Man Who Hates Chilies: A Limerick Short

A Poem by Adrian Frederick Adam
"

A Limerick short about an old man who hates chilies.

"

There was an old man who claimed that he hates chili.

He doesn’t want it in his food or on any of his property.

He said that he cannot remember

the last time he ate one hot pepper

therefore, cannot tell why he hates spicy.

One Friday night he was told to eat one as a dare.

He said that he will not, to everyone’s square.

A stranger assured

that if he eats one he’ll be cured

Of the chili-less burden he bears.

The old man was still persistently not eager

to consume one was against his demeanor

He was finally encouraged

To eat one in his old age

And remembered why he eats it -never.
