Osiris

Osiris

A Poem by Brandon
"

Deals with death kinda. A story, with a lot of mythological references

"

I stood there at the shore

Rod and staff in thy hand

A broken and praying man

Imploring Proteus’ favor.

The water drew back

Revealing holy ground

And there I bowed

For mortals cannot stand

I unrolled ancient papyrus

And left no words to be read

Nor recited from the book of the dead

Then, man met death. The god Anubis.

And silently he stood

Holding my father’s severed head

I wept and wept

The water came crashing in.

Yo, I like this piece B. When you include mythology in pieces, some people tend to think that it would be difficult to comprehend. You're able to put together life, death, fear, loving, loathing, etc...with sound structure and flow.

I'ma T-Mobile this and add it to my faves.
