In memorie of Eddie

In memorie of Eddie

A Poem by Aiden Alyx

Life is like a little bird
who wants to fly away
pecking at my very soul
because I have to stay
Watching them lower you
into the muddy ground
it kills me every time
I realize you're not around
Crying as my mouth stays shut
bleeding from my heart
as the little bird of hope
tears my insides apart
Choking on the feathers
drowning though its dry
asking myself inside my mind
why did you have to die?
They cannot look me in the eyes
and say it was god's will
pull the trigger slowly now
your mind was set to kill
Now i sit before your stone
as dark subsides to day
open my mouth for one last time
and let life fly away

A sad, but a very expressful poem.
Your rhyming reads well and isn't too forced,
and your descriptive.
Everything a poem needs and then some.
Thank you for sharing.
