Breathing Water

Breathing Water

A Poem by Amanda
"

Kind of emo, but ok I thought

"

Can't think, Can't breathe,

Can't breathe, can't think,

While fast beneath the waves I sink,

I take one breath,

One breath I drink,

Can't breathe, can't think,

I sink, I sink.

A drink, a drink,

Another drink,

To muffle frantic thoughts I think,

Until at last

I'm on the brink

Of death, I think,

I sink, I sink.

I see the brink,

As black as ink,

It rushes forth, severs the link,

Of Soul and mind,

They're out of sync,

Another drink,

I sink, I sink.

Author's Note

Amanda
Waaaay more emo than I intended, but there it is. One of my greatest fears is of drowning. Obviously, I have never done it, but I thought it might make a neat situational pov poem.
