A Poem by Akeen V.

We once played a game.
It holds a joyous name.
We played for a small time.
It ended through a saddening chime.

The game was called love.
It fell into the sea
Of unimportant emotions.
Love became a pointless notion.
For her eyes unable to see.

Yet hold fast those laughs we held.
And the many wonderful emotions we felt.
True love to last or lies to fall fast,
The heart slowly beats but yet still burns hot.

Awaiting that hopeful day
When the game begins anew
Love will find its way
To burn brightly through
Allowing a victory
For love to grow and bloom.

Very nice. It has a beat to it that I really like. I feel like its supposed to be read that way. and the lyrics are just amazing.

A game indeed, though a dangerous one...
We all strive to win while there aren't many who do.
Great poem!

I think that the metaphor of a game is very appropriate for love. unfortunately, most lovers are players and thus sometimes it is not true love. a good write :)
