I have had a poetic vision, unwritten for years, and you wrote it. My vision was of two men walking on a road and coming to a point where they had to choose one of three roads; one through a forest, one over a mountain, and the other along a beach. The first man chose the easy way, the beach. The other chose the mountain. The first man finished the journey, before the day was done, and sat for three days waiting for the other. When the other arrived with cuts and bruises covering him he smiled at the other man, whom wondered why he'd been so foolish. The mountain man smiled and said, "For the last three days, I lived, while you sat waiting for life to come be you on a beach!" Great write!!
I really liked the flow of this but even with your brilliance, a flow is something I don't even care if you have or not. Your words speak VOLUMES and you have knowledge that many of us do not have - you inspire me to continue to speak my voice, a voice much softer than yours but with a lot of the same words. Thank you for this piece... it's incredible and the blunt, honest truth.
A well written truth - it's in human nature to always have dreams and wishes left unfilfilled, no matter how much we have already.
But no matter how much or little we have, we don't find happiness in belongings. Happiness is a feeling that isn't attached to material things which makes it pointless to search it accumulating those.
You expressed that really well in your poem, great job!
Make the most of what you have cause life is what you make it, own it and take responsibility for it seems to be what this poem is saying. The end line just sums everything up so well.
