Acid Tears

Acid Tears

A Poem by A. Doyle

I close my eyes and see
Painted in the dark
Your sad eyes
Piercing through me
A Smile and a laugh
Broken by the silent islands
We’ve retreated to
Once there was music
We could dance to
Then there was the sound
Of pain
The saddest tune
I’ve ever felt
And all that’s left
Are stains on my heart
From acid tears that fell
Leaving only loss and regret

Wow, I was lured into reading this poem, due to its title, and I'm
Glad that I was. Stunning imagery of overwhelming emotional tidal waves
Not to mention the fluidity and rhyming scheme is quite astounding!

This is very relatable, yet unique, thank you for sharing :)

Beautiful imagery with this one and I absolutely love the title you came up with. You tell a heartening tale through such swollen emotions. I hope I don't sound dumb with this review, haha. But I really loved it overall!
