A Poem by Alex Vandool

I remembered a lot of things,

and a lot of times when we were together.

Moments, expressions;

your face and body in love

and eternal innocence

- that made me smile,

and laugh or cry

Others ask: "why?"

I just try,

to turn my mind to different views.

Face away, but don't forget,

can't or don't want to.

And you know

the skies have changed lately

- dark-mysterious,

perfectly transformational,

clouds hanging high

and rich and pure and true,

or sliding swiftly by the moon.

You and I shared so much

Hid. Discovered. Lost and found.

We saved each other sometimes

when time seemed done

and last page turned,

but something pulled us close again
