A Stage Play by Alex Vandool

"Code - who knows?
Sharp lines unseen, unfelt, uncracked
Spin digital, square in neon shades
...Pink, green, light blue
Scarlet against the black
And white and wheels
In Arab flow, arabesque they say
Code spin; roads in each direction known
And up and out again
Numbers to infinity
Varieties of codes
Dot dash dot dot and watch it rise
Accelerate to speeds unknown
Imagine
Then what gives
And what about the soul, the mind?
Defined by code
Operated by some strange same
Enter message, synapse map:
Close or open
Command seek
Confusion
Confused code and arbiter
Control or now controlled
Zero one one one zero
Simple
Fast and faster than the eye?
The brain in vain (or insane) this time
Must speed up to see who shows
Is anything ahead already
Or is this head behind?
Prime, prime to part the drapes of the mind
Continue if I will
Equations set and limit space
Deny the message excess pace
Trap the code, untangle sight
(Orange)
Unwrap the code
Electric shocks
Speed colours - fly magic
Back again and faster still
Let's bring this terror to a halt
DNA LSD three, three, three
Crazy writing as before
Taken prophetically that apocalyptic tale
How many souls bore its weight
Crushed to dust beneath its tail
Some beast beyond compare
Such mocking knocking ill-prepared
To face a challenge from below
Or should we say above
We could and scratch it in our blood
Like code sent plague
H1N1
Like numbers' number in white noise
Seething, speeding
Not all is known
Fear or boredom
Ennui wins this calculated choice
For in the air ring waves and lines
Wars of pattern
Armies of this code
Sound snap view wide
Narrow tunnels sucking life inside
A guess and yes
A break in time
Code code not slowed
Figures symbol master - flow
Break snap crunch quadronometry
New physics book of poesy
Metaphysics
Metaphor
Beta chemical in chain work
Chain link
Chain sink
A foolish choice?
Mitosis mega split
A million directions dancing, entrancing on a pin
These codes
These nightmare givers
Damnation slivers
Slicing through our hope for peace
We cannot stand it, nor stand for it
We fight on to the end
Lesson one and less on past infinity
No end in sight nor sound nor touch

But can we give and take so much
To not look back and forward?
There!
A sign of something from the other side
Where all is clear and codes are seeds
To flower magnificent alone
And not detach our nerves so strung
Need not I some calm relief
That my code-solve time should be so brief
To ponder and stretch this way that
On racks of code, unknowing, flat
And all the levels rise and fall
To one pure level smoothing all
Maybe as it always was
And is and will be in and out
And can we ever do without
These endless drastic codes"
