Pain Of The Insecure

Pain Of The Insecure

A Poem by Alexander Cain

Caring is a prostitute in the disguise of a virgin.
she has claimed more victims than cancer,
but every time she calls I don’t hesitate to answer.                                                                     She has taken so many people away from me,
but when I’m with her I can’t help feeling free.
She rescues me as I begin to drown,
and makes me feel strong as she secretly tears me down.
When she left I contemplated suicide,
and would have done it if Elia wasn’t there to be my guide.                                                            My life was wasted when she was nowhere near,
and the day she left I ran out of fear.
Now she has returned and begins to taunt me,
but my past experiences still remain to haunt me.

Woah... Made cold shivers go trough my spine. Such strong emotions, so well written. I also like the structure. I like it really much.

About
Im am the one who you look to if you need a shoulder to cry on, but also the person you cross the street to avoid. I am cold hearted and caring. An oxymoron given physical form. more..
