I'm not a lion

I'm not a lion

A Poem by Alex Louise Edwards

I'm not a lion,

I'm not gonna roar,

I'm not about to draw my claw,

I'm not gonna stand on all four paws,

And enter a draw.

I won't be locked in cage,

Where I am poke and prodded in to a rage,

Please let me out and I promise I won't eat your draws.

But stand in my way,

And i'll raise my voice,

Let out an almighty roar,

Or even draw a claw.

But don't go running scared,

It won't last for long,

I'll stop raising my voice,

And retract my claws.

I'll go back in the cage,

Where I am poked and prodded into a rage.

I'm not a lion,

I'm not gonna roar,

I'm not about to draw my claw,

I'm not gonna stand on all four paws,

And enter a draw.
