His Own Eyes

His Own Eyes

A Poem by Aleyah

His shadowed eyes reeled

A silent picture, moving faster

His smile caught in photographs,

lively with brimming laughter.

But seldom a person knew,

what fatal blow did cast him,

into the drained, defeated, depths below

of no happy-ever-after.

A sigh for every hidden secret,

A sob for all the lies,

A tear for every missing piece,

A shattered life for the demise...

of the sinking, fading happiness

that is lost within his eyes.

Shut into the corners,

of silent, dark calamity,

wishing he could find someone,

to fix his own humanity.

Sifting through his mind,

to his distant, craving past.

Watching days go by,

feeling people pass

shutting out his face,

moving way too fast.

A stare amongst a thousand eyes

was fatefully and slightly cast

his eyes shut tight, but crying out

for unsavored memories to pass.

His wishes once were vital dreams,

to a lively imagination

his airy spirit floating

his own world a bright creation.

Opressed and crushed by days gone by

slicing into flesh,

now they're slicing into emptiness,

there is nothing left.

Sad description of a soul in torment. If only we could go back to better times. Good poem.

I almost find this homo erotic in the most macabre sense of the word. Playfully indication of Swift ot Taylor, well written with a clear flow and sparse imagery, well done, great read.
