Cat and Mouse

Cat and Mouse

A Poem by Alice In Wonderland

It's so hard to say
I love you,
and not draw back my tears.
It's so hard to
fake a smile,
just to let you have no fear.

I conceal my tears,
for you my dear,
but will that ever be enough?
No, not by a long shot.
When will it be my turn?
When will you put me first?

Will you ever see behind my mask,
to know whats really me?
I don't think you'll look close enough.
When will the chase end?
I'm tired of constantly playing,
in the world that you live.

I'm the cat and you're the mouse,
Let stop running in circles.
I'm not trying to hide.
I'll turn and walk away,
but I doubt you'd even care.
I'm not one to loose hope.

Stop running in circles,
stop playing games.
Come out and show me,
your true colors.
Let me know your name.

You used to hold me,
oh so dear.
What happened to those days?
How did I not see it in those eyes?
This cat is blind by love itself,
but the mouse has lost his way.
