We are Scotland

A brand new poem, from the pen of a Scot, on behalf of the Scots nation - ancient and modern.

Look for us in the North.

Look for us in the Dark.

Look for us in the Cold.

That is where we stand.

 

We stand without fear.

We stand where others have fallen.

We stand where the nights are darkest,

And the days are shortest.

 

Our songs are of survival.

Our songs are of pride.

Our songs are of the courage

To stand as one against the storm.

 

And we will stand together.

And we will never surrender.

And we will make sure they remember.

And so we, the ones who dared to stand,

Will never be forgotten.

 

We are Scotland.

As a fellow brit, of the Welsh variety, I giggled in agreement at "Look for us in the cold" and "To stand as one against the storm". On another level, it was very empowering. Sounds almost like one of those epic lager adverts. Great work!
