Steppenwolf

Steppenwolf

A Poem by Allen Smuckler

He thought

of all the heat

that came from the rear

tires as he

sped away

in his Pontiac Tempest.

Magic Carpet Ride

blared from

his Alpine speakers.

Ice dripped

from his heart,

sleet poured

from his baby blues.

Sleep, sleep

all he could think

about was falling

asleep …

*Welcome to "Pure Rhymes" Thanks for joining, great to have you...!*

Sleet poured from his baby blues... Ice dripped from the slew of slathered magic carpets in line for the ride... If only I had read this while driving a Pontiac sleepily...

Thanks Kiari for reading and commenting...
always appreciated...
Driving to nowhere...just to try to find peace.
Driving through emotions...better left buried.
Driving along the storm's edge...tempest revealed.
Driving without fear...instant clarity.

Loved it Allen

A trip into nostalgic times and yet there is a heaviness of the modernity weighing, lovely piece Allen :)
