That Girl

How could you just let her go?

She was the most special one yet.

She loved you like no one else.

What about that don't you get?

 

Why would you just let her leave?

She only wanted to accept you.

She could make you feel so loved,

Like you were being made again, new.

 

This girl is in your every dream,

No matter how much you deny it.

One glance filled you completely.

The darkest skies, her smile lit.

 

This girl isn't like any other,

Too bad that's not something you see.

She loved you with the deepest desire.

I know 'cause that girl is me.

Pros: I like the rhyming, it helps the poem flow. I also like the switched word order of a couple of the lines such as "The darkest skies, her smile lit." Switching word order can be hard at times, can make it sound odd, but this one sounded good.

Cons: Nothing that I can think of.

Overall: Good poem with a good ending.
