icy christmas, summer awaits

icy christmas, summer awaits

A Poem by Alpris
"

Bit of a mindfuck here; Auckland never snows. This is my attempt at a play on metaphors.

"
iced in
we are all frozen in good weather, as time is
that's why the sky is blue; and the clouds are
skating ever so finely
leaving faint skid marks across cerulean rink
as I
am frozen to my chair, on this very warm day
f*g in hand;
its smoke will not harm the warmth

we all expect the sun to rise,
the very next day
to melt the ice to seas of grey, darkened sallow
sunken overweight clouds with high cholesterol
but we're not frozen
we'll drown in seas of bad weather
this ice age is how i wish
to spend my christmas

Nicely done with the metaphors. I got the feel of ice cold emotions intensely played out with each line.

Thanks yet again for sharing your work.
