A Poem by Alpris

sometimes if you squint, things look
better
possibly clearer,
   and that may be why love is blind
why it curls your vision
  and twists a trick of your pupil;
you are the pupil, still learning to differentiate
the difference between lust and the frazzled
 pulse of your arms. You love most
  whatever appeals to you , whatever opens
those rusty hinges with a cry
   and if you look closely, you'll see
that the screws have come loose.

i surely relate to this poem..too many screws have come loose over the years...and i have squinted far too much to make things look and seem better than they were or are.
some of us are better to leave the rusty hinges alone...keep the door to our heart closed.
another really good piece of writing.
something raw and honest about your work...and such good word choice.
