Sadness is Liquid

Sadness is Liquid

A Poem by Kasey Jones

Sadness is liquid.
It seeps from the heart and pools in our eyes.
Gushing like the dam broke when someone dies.
Soaking through to the surface when we discover lies.
Sadness is liquid.

Emptiness is so hard to explain,
Like the way twirls of smoke fascinate us
And how we sometimes fear trust.
Just like my need to get on that Greyhound bus,
Emptiness is so hard to explain.

I love this poem :) I sort of picture a lava lamp flowing very very slowly but only flowing downward and then just disappearing once it gets to the bottom. I'm not sure what the Greyhound bus is though... Nice work :)

Your words are true. Something can't be explained. You create a strong poem in so few words. A excellent poem. Thank you.

And yet there are many shades in that emptiness! Wonderfully stark and thought provoking love!
