My Last Wish

My Last Wish

A Poem by Alysa

The waves are crashing on us now,

The thunder claps at every yell.

The lightning strikes at every punch,

The whales cry at every wince.

We tackles each other and go down,

Falling on jagged rocks.

Scrapes turns to torn, ripped open flesh,

Moans of pain turn into screams of mourn.

Both our bodies go stiff,

I try to turn my head and look at you.

But I am paralized,

Then there are hot tears that well up in my eyes.

I have one last wish,

Just one god damn request.

And that simple favor,

Would be to see your smile again.

I really liked this poem. It expresses true love, and how even in pain their first thought is about seeing their beloved smile again. Great job.

Love has a way of making us feel this way but not everyone has the gift to transpose those feelings into wondrful poetry as you have so skillfully done in this poem. Excellent work.
