void

void

A Poem by Amber V. Black

It hurts to know that the hands that once comforted you

have fallen to ashes;

that the hands that wiped away your tears

-the pain, that I

now stuff in my pockets.

It hurts me to know that I can

no longer call you my friend

because when you were gone,

Someone

took your place.

I do not know how this will end.

 I cannot tell you

how fast a river will flow

but something changed

 that day

-altered

by my reluctance and your prying.

You might have to fill my place,

I may have to draw back more,

but as time has been up

the thought of ‘forever’ is slowly

           Fading

                       away.

You know, the theme seems so personal, and yet you could just as well have been describing my situation. Well, done! Good choice of words. I would have suggestions, but so far it seems quite well polished.
