God Bless America

God Bless America

World can say, whatever they think

or want, we are born free and ruled

them all, a land blessed by the Lord

our motto is simple, in God we trust

We welcome all religions, respect them

believe in equality, humanity we care

provide asylum to those who need

a land chosen by God, to make him proud

Our men and women in uniforms are

the bravest from all, we don't forget

enemy we find, even we have to invade

a foreign country, we hunt them down

Donations, aids and charities we provide

still those countries treat us like ungrateful wives

we stand with weak, fight most evil enemies

which are barbarians, untamed beasts and freaks

Lord be with our leaders, give wisdom to all

let all of us be united, like one strong family

we are proud to be Americans, because

in freedom we believe, God bless America

Till there is sun, moon and stars, I pray to God

my flag stay on top, until the end of time let USA

be blessed with Prosperity, one strong united nation

the leader of the world, hear my little prayer my Lord!

I like that this view is positive. So many people complain about how terrible it is. I am always like, yes no one is perfect and the past was unfair and unkind, but we are moving in the right direction. And look at the rest of the world. There's so much disease, famine, genocide, infanticide, war and poverty! I tell people that we are spoiled. They have no idea what harsh conditions are ad are lucky to not have bombs blowing up innocent homes and kids. Thanks for writing.

I can respect your opinion because America allows us freedom of speech, but America is not without it's drawbacks. We do help other nations of course, but we have a lot of problems within America that are not being addressed. For example, The War on Drugs? Determinate sentencing that will give some 85 years in prison for drug trafficking while others walk away after murdering people under the guise of the "Affluenza Defense" ? We lead the world in the number of people imprisoned and then show prejudice to those who have been imprisoned by making it extremely difficult to gain employment. I love America, truly I do, but we are not without arrogance or problems.

One of the aspects of America, I appreciate most is the Constitution- no man or woman is above the law and only when you actually take the time to study it can you understand the values and premise of what the country was founded on.

The preamble itself are words to live by, "We the people in order to form a more perfect union...
The people who make up America come from all over the world, each one sharing their uniqueness and culture.

I look forward to the day we can put aside our differences and unify as one planet.. but that's simply too extreme for most - hence my pen name ~ Daydreamer, thank you Amos for sharing!

The patriotism is strong in this one... You're not the only country in the world with freedom, you're not even the country in the world with THE MOST freedom. How great can a country be if it's been non-stop at war since 1942? The common denominator is not those other countries...

So, get off your high horse and stop pretending your surroundings are superior. As for the religious affiliation, your freedom wasn't granted to you so that you could assume everyone has to be a follower of Christ, and even more ironically, the religious tolerance you were given by your founding fathers, has been used to bash other religions, especially Islam.

Beautiful, simple truth. Maybe a little harsh in places, but "harsh" usually gets the point across. To be honest, I thought it was going to be a negative, sarcastic and jaded criticism. I'm glad it isn't and I'm glad I read it.

Thanks ...
I'm been fortunate to be able to travel most of the world after retirement. It is always good to return home; but, having said that, travel has opened my eyes not only to how Americans can be viewed but also to the fact that wonderful people exist in places where we not might expect as good a welcome as we receive. Often our guides have been happy to share both the good and bad. This is not really what you'd consider a review, but it is the thoughts that run through my head. All my best wishes for continued writing success to you!

Thank you Sharon for your thoughts, highly appreciated.
(Lord be with our leaders, give wisdom to all, let all of us be united, like one strong family, we are proud to be Americans, because in freedom we believe, God bless America) I totally love this write and the message it speaks to the heart. No matter how far we seem to have strayed from what our forefathers envisioned for our country I still believe in the USA and I too am proud to be an American! A wonderful write here Amos my friend. ~Sharon

A fantastic write. If the world as a whole would make this their prayer... it would be a much better place.

Thank you Melinda...
Well that is very well written and very emotive as well. I feel your complete and utter passion, pride, and love for your country. And that is wonderful when one is proud to be born and raised and living in one's country. And I do agree America does encourage and promote freedom, equality, humanity, respect for other nations, and creativity. I am happy to be living here so far.

But I do also stand my ground about a few things you wrote and I also read other readers also feel some disagreement as well. Stanzas three and four kind of put me off with their subjectivity and hatred for others. I know it is directed towards enemies, but it feels generalizing other people calling them "barbarians" and "untamed beasts and freaks" and rather contradictory when you say "we don't forget enemy we find, even we have to invade a foreign country, we hunt them down." How is invading another country a sane action? How is that not barbarian too? And "donations, aids and charities we provide still those countries treat us like ungrateful wives." I must also disagree with this only because the donations and charities provided are not pro bono...they implicate being payed off in the end and the countries that are helped have barely any money to sustain their own civilians from what I learned in economics and history. So I don't know how charitable that is and how grateful one would feel when one says, "Ok, I will help you with money for now, but you know you will have to pay me back eventually...and also with interests." That is just my opinions. Please don't take them to heart. I did really enjoy this poem for the most part.
