The Lonely One

The Lonely One

A Poem by Amy
"

I wanted to try to write a symbolic poem.

"

An old wrapper that has nothing better to do.

Everyone always kicks it with their shoe.

No one picks up the lonely wrapper that’s light blue.

How long will it have to lay on the cold sidewalk?

If more piles up, should the lonely wrapper feel a feeling of shock?

No, but it will have to endure a rough trip around the block.

That one wrapper will eventually lead to several wrappers.

When people litter it matters.

Because overtime pollution scatters.

It will only get worse and worse from there.

But would anyone actually care?

Maybe that one person who picked up the lonely wrapper has actions they’re willing to share.

I love to write, and I plan to make this my career somehow. I don't show it in front of anyone, but I have a very cliche way of thinking, and it's probably because I always read books. I don't have th.. more..
