The Sky is Black

The Sky is Black

A Chapter by Ana Papaya

Sometimes I look back and feel sad
For all the things that went wrong
The good intentions with bad executions
Twisted truths and misunderstood meanings
We always walked alone, yet parallel to one another
Even cheering each other on but never wanting to join sides
Because we just weren't sure we could make it work
And maybe we were too afraid to try,
... or maybe it was all just I?

But you always talked way too much and
I just wanted you to hold your tongue so I could bite your lip
Instead you bit my tongue whenever I let it slip
Do you think we could agree on one thing at least?
If I told you the sky was blue would you agree
Or would you argue with me on that too?
"No it's not. It's black with white polka dots"

Beautiful and sad poetry dear Ana.
"And maybe we were too afraid to try,
... or maybe it was all just I? "
I understand the above lines. I held regret for things said and not said. Love and life. Leave us for better endings. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you Coyote. Perhaps there is reason to everything whether we see it or not.

You are right dear Ana and you are welcome.
Good intentions with bad executions should be my epitaph, or perhaps all of us. I think the phrase, "we always hurt the ones we love" is most apt indeed. Maybe arguing about the colour of the sky is a sign that all is not well and perhaps it was time for a major lifestyle choice reassessment. :)

Perhaps you are right. Opposites attract and sometimes they provide balance other times chaos.
The sky is blue because Earth's atmosphere scatters blue light more effectively than any other color of light. And just for kicks and funsies - the sun is not red or yellow, it is all colors. If you could stare at the sun without blinding yourself it would look white.

Nice poem, some people can be so damn stubborn sometimes.
