Ghost of a Girl

Ghost of a Girl

A Chapter by Ana Papaya
"

There's a girl that keeps following me

She's always tugging at my sleeve

Telling me how things used to be

When she lived at home

I tell her she's got to go away

It's time she learned how to laugh and play

I don't need another shadow today

Girl, won't you please just go

I don't need another shadow today

And I don't need to feel the pain

I can see her eyes hold all the rain

Behind the walls that hold back the flow

There's a girl that keeps following me

She's always tugging at my sleeve

I don't need another shadow today

Girl, won't you please just go

my childhood never seems to poke its head into my days to often anymore (not that it was all bad mind you) every once in a while a bit shows up to paint my perspective:/ you remind me of my sister... almost always the past is a thing of sadness she is a silly bean

Is this.. your past? I don't know how but that's what I got from reading this beautiful piece.

"Shadow" "keeps following me" and "I can see her eyes" which means she can see yours

gave off that vibe

Great work Papaya!

Thank you for popping in to read this.
It's past blending into present I guess.. read more
The line "I can see her eyes hold all the rain" is enough to make the reader sigh and want to hug you, but it's quite a difficult thing to do in a review.....But not impossible (squishyhug) :)

Welcome :)
This is almost like a pantoum but not. I can't seem to place the form. Regardless a small triumph of rotating and repeating lines. I can sense the underlying darkness within this on dealing with the past and moving onto the present. It has a gravity that ensnared you. CD

I understand the lines above. I read old journals and I wonder who this person was. I loved your work today and I will return tonight and read more. You are my muse for today dear friend.
