The Rate at Which Things Fade

The Rate at Which Things Fade

A Chapter by Ana Papaya
"

...

"

I want to say I hate you

But what my heart feels isn't hate
It's love, wrapped in a very deep pain
It's the pain I hate
But both pain and love fade
Although, not at the same rate...

And sometimes never completely.
:)
Being human is a burden. Come to the dark side! Where the chocolate flows like... Well like chocolate.
And all we know how to write about is...
Well, chocolate mostly.
Look, I just hope you like the s**t because we've got tons.

Nice word painting of a tug-of-war in one's heart. The title is brilliantly conceived & well-expressed thru-out your message.

Thanks so much BG. :)
It is a bit of a tug-of-war, I like that comparison.
Wonderful writing here, P. Sometimes hate morphs into love and vice versa. You're right, love and pain fade away, but pain fades more slowly. Good write.

Ted, thank you so much. :)
Really appreciate your visit and comment.
This is wonderfully written. I love how delicate and graceful this one looks.
"It's the pain I hate
But both pain and love fade
Although, not at the same rate..." - So true. It's almost impossible to hate the person we once loved / still love. All we are left with is this melancholic feeling, a feeling of vast emptiness sinking into us and consuming us.

Great Job!

Yes, a few. :)
Love the layers of this. This is fantastic.
"But what my heart feels isn't hate
It's love, wrapped in a very deep pain..." - Absolutely gorgeous & true,

as is the ending conclusion. I also love the title.
Beautiful as is, but I'd love to see this expanded upon, if it is not already done so through other works, weaved in & such.

Thank you for sharing this,

This was wonderfully written. I loved the level of awareness that this put forth: Being aware of both love and pain equally, despite the snail's pace in which it takes to flee said pain, masquerading as love.

Great, heartfelt stuff. :)
