In Cold Blood

In Cold Blood

A Chapter by Ana Papaya

Sleep called

             like a siren

her beautiful music

      a melodic hum

pouring

         a red symphony

    onto a white

 canvas

   and I in my flesh

under dressed

               for such a soiree

drank it all in

                  for this was the life

                that I needed

that was mine

           in cold blood

Oh my god. Probably my favorite of yours? This is grand. I feel like this was written by some renowned writer, long lost to the ages. Even down to the lettering.
I really like this. I was very very impressed from the start. By the time the line "for such a soirre..." ended "...in cold blood," I had to lean back in exhalation. I am very very jealous of this piece. Of how it is written as well as its content & concept. But I am so thoroughly impressed by this that it has me feeling very congratulatory towards you. Perhaps not jealousy or envy. I suppose one might call it admiration or happiness for another? Regardless, really great piece Papaya.
This, is a knockout.

This is almost like monument of post experience. Meditation in observation. Simple but not too simple . Statement of truthful moment and poetry.

Thank you Hannah. :)
Get the impression of Dracula coming into your room and taking your blood, thus releasing you into the life you wanted. Free to wander the earth. Well at least during the night if i remember right.

I do like that interpretation of this. There is something very appealing about immortality. :)

I loved this poem. It's so pure and enchanting. Reading it made me think about my life because:
"for this was the life
that I needed
that was mine in cold blood"
Amazing read!

Thank you Sheer Terror, I appreciate your kind review.
I hate it when I don't understand a poem... Though, I guess it's not that bad. I adore the cryptic nature that this poem brings. It seems people have shared their own interpretations, but I won't because I truly don't have any. What makes this poem so beautiful is the fact that it could mean either death or sleep, or perhaps an awakening. It's so mysterious, yet, so intriguing. Thank you for sharing this!
