yellow girl

why do you sit on a dirt road

  as life passes you by

if you chase the dust

   it will lead you, away

from the dirt

    and into the wind

why do you stay, yellow

    girl

on a road

   of dirt

go!

chase

    dust

I see a dandelion sprouting up in the middle of an unpaved road.
Being urged to hurry up and turn into fluff so it can blow away to safety.
Before traffic hits.

I love that you see that. That's so awesome.
Thanks!
A interesting poem my friend. Many reasons to wait and many reasons to chase the dust. Either way. Lessons and life is waiting. Thank you Ana for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thanks so much Kristina. :)
I love it, does the yellow girl ever get up and into the wind? I wonder what she would find that wasn't already where she is now.

Lovely poem, Ana, as always you deliver

It is very exciting. :)
wow ..kind of fatalistic ... get off the dirt and chase dust ... no frills attached ..but the wind to take you somewhere else that is hopefully magic .. what a tale you tell in this simple, surgical poem .. well done says i! well done indeed ..your creativity shines in all the grey brown dirt and dust ..love it girl! super unique write

Hi Mr. E. Thank you so much for the super amazing comment!
Your words are so easy to read, and then leave the reader with much to think about. Outstanding use of metaphor and I love the melancholy feel to this one. Great writing. :) Julie

I see this as an inspiring one prompting one to act. Sitting or non action is no solution.i lived the way you have brought out your theme, Ana.

Thank you Bala. :)
I have read this poem like many times now and usually would have much to say (as you are well aware of), but this time I will just say, isn't it wonderful to chase the wind... and too, aren't we more than just "dust in the wind" (Kansas song), I think so anyway.... Yellow Girl, our lives matter greatly... especially when we chase the wind... sorry too long again...

yellow girl is sitting in the here and now...life presents itself as best it can without going anywhere. It is always here...and there...everywhere....no need to chase anything. It will find her. It will always find her...
