who’s to say what’s a long time

it never felt like it was

gravity abandoned me

and left me floating on dreams of us

now I'm tearing down the tree house

where you and i used to play

packing up all the memories

to save for a rainy day

somewhere in between celebration and mourning acceptance, with a splash of nostalgia
sad in all the best ways
i always forget to pack up my memories, and end up losing them completely.
or I just never unbox them again, and they sit in the basement forever.
It's nice to know theres someone out there that values them appropriately.

thank you so much James, so good to see you too!
Nicely done
we do have an old neglected treehouse failing away beneath years of accumulating pine cones and tree debris
It probably deserves a poem also

Hi John. Thank you :)
It probably does deserve a poem.
oh no Ana! ;) you have cloaked this melancholy and loss in the innocence of childhood .. there can be few things more intriguing, inspiring and just plain fun ... thank the tree house ... every child needs one .... time allows the wise to let go gracefully, i think ...sure enjoyed all your poem gives

Who is to say what too long is, indeed. One thinks its too long and the other not enough. Isn't it always tje way?
One things for sure, gravity always abandons one of them. Brilliant line.

Sometimes. We must tear the house down to rebuilt. Nice flow of thoughts led to the proper ending. Thank you Ana for sharing the excellent poetry.
