crumbs and nibbles

crumbs and nibbles

A Chapter by Ana Papaya

even as the last crumbs fall
I know they'll not lead a mouse to the truth
nor lay a path for an escape

one cannot blame hell on a devil that does not exist
or pray to an angel whose arrows always miss
love is neither a burden nor a gift

love just is

some mice, even with a trail of crumbs, can't find their way out of a maze of confusion.
we make our decisions...religion can be a crutch, or not...but love is what really matters...and if we can finally love ourselves, it allows us to love others.
that's how it is, as you so aptly expressed here.

Your poem is a beautifully abstract way to say what I've always believed . . . there's no such thing as closure. Most people have a compelling desire to "make sense" of what happens in life, but it's actually just an excuse to continue grinding about it. Many times the best we can do is to simply let go & let everyone breathe different air (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Hi Margie, thank you. Great comment. Agree, sometimes you grab on and sometimes you let go.
Very nicely expressed
Usually, wonderful stuff to be involved in but can occasionally become a four-letter word

Thank you for liking my titles, I always find titles tricky
as the Beatles once said, "love is all around, "it's there for us to grab however and whenever we can, it lightens the soul and lifts the heart, cool poem Ana

So true. Thanks Gram!
Love should come with a health warning, maybe a few health warnings.
Would you change it, probably not, you would stay in the maze forever.

Totally agree! And yes, I might just stay in the maze
This poem is one of the best summarisations of love I ever read. Love just is. Don’t attribute anything else to it. There are no devils, no angels. Just humans with failings. One loves regardless. If one has to love. Great poem!

You say deep things in a few, choice words, Ms. Ana.
Very welcome.
I love the below lines.
"one cannot blame hell on a devil that does not exist
or pray to an angel whose arrows always miss
love is neither a burden nor a gift"
The statement above, I have been preaching for years. We decide our life dear Ana. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

I did enjoy dear Ana and you are welcome.
I don't know why I like this one so much, I just is.
S**t! Am I a mouse?
Love should just be clumped in together with the other incomprehensible attractions like magnetism and gravity and be done with it. But I wouldn't label it incomprehensible attractions, I'd just have a row of question marks below a skull and crossbones, with keep out! Written underneath like a moody teens bedroom door.

Ps... I'm not saying they're incomprehensible to all, I'm just not a cleverologist like you 😀

Yes, well, thank goodness for that degree in cleverology. I'd be lost without it. :)
