Sun

Sun

A Chapter by Ana Papaya

Once I climbed a mountain
if only in my mind
but when I climbed that mountain
I swear I touched the sky

and when I reached between the clouds
imagine my surprise
to find the sun was smiling there
a sparkle in its eyes

I felt its warmth despite the cold
as if to let me know
that even under cloudy weather
I should never feel alone.

dear Ana... just when all seems hopeless...
someone smiles and says the perfect thing
to give you hope. My father wrote in my Journal years ago...
"Remember when days are dark and dreary, it's just the Shadow of an Angel's Wing watching over you." I am remembering that every day.
Affectionately, Pat

A very uplifting feeling in these words. I once went up a Himalayan mountain pass and on reaching the top almost froze like an icicle. So I know how cold it gets there. To have the sun smile upon you is very reassuring. Loved it!

I'm on my way ……… :)
Year ago. I was station in Honduras. Many times on the highest mountain. I was in a cloud. Finding the sun show us, we are okay. Being sun-kissed by the sun. A blessing dear Ana. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear Ana.
Beautiful words Ana, and with more than a hint of truth in them too.
I have climbed many a mountain (in me younger days) and you have captured the experience so well.
The climb down is always easier when you have felt that affinity with all that surrounds you, in what is essentially, an environment where being alone never feels like being alone.
And that has nothing at all to do with the fact that a grown man always took his pet stuffed toy penguin, waddles with him on every climb. 😀

He liked it more when they were snow peaked and he could slide down. So did waddles 😀

I'm glad it did, thank you :)
It hurts.

Poetically or not. It is painful. You should climb with me. It's, you would enjoy it.

I'm sure an actual climb would hurt, physically. I'm in terrible shape. I'd never survive that.
