books
stacked so high

and I lost myself every time
blinded

there is something about books that brings comfort
the adventures, the atmosphere, the drama, the intrigue the great bloody pile that you'll take mega years to read

I am an avid reader & I must have a stack of books to choose from, as my next read. But as I read your poem, I instantly thought about how writers get writer's block when they have too many ideas & cannot sift thru them to focus on something & do it justice. Instead, they flutter all over the many ideas that flutter thru their minds, every poem sounding like an amalgam of diverse ideas (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I hide in my books too, at least I used to. I used to have three or four books going at a time. It's greatest escape.

I used to go through several a week. I've slowed down to about one per week. They are my escape. .. read more
Stories are a funny thing. Sometimes I can convince myself what i'm thinking is real, and other times I have to convince myself its all real. Fun thinking here.

Thanks a bunch Cory!
You have just described my childhood. Spent hours in the library and my room, reading all sorts of adventures. Read most of the classics by the time I was twelve. I was never lonely in the company of a book. Then I learned to come out of my shell. Nice bit of brevity Ana.

if there isnt a girl scooting around the room on a ladder with wheels, and her nose buried in a book in your head, go back and read this again. But read it better this time.

How wonderful it would be to have such a library. I'm always envious when I see them in movies.

Also, thank you. :)
oh my, I have stacks and stacks of books...it is hard to see them in the pic, but they are there behind me.
Through many hard, stressful times, those stories got me through.
it's the clutter we sometimes need.

I have stacks and stacks too. I think you're right. That clutter can be comforting. Thanks Jacob. .. read more
