Wandering Minds

Where do minds go when they wander off? What makes them come back. I consider this more of a musing than an actual story.

Does a mind really wander? 
How do you know it wanders, not skip, meander, or scedattle?  Why would a mind wander and does it ever get cold, lonely, or lost?  Does the owner miss it or do we even realize when its gone?
  Does a mind ever get bored or does it just like to throw temptations back at us?  Do we ever listen to its call? 
Does one's mind announce its presence amongst its return?  Does it whisper, giggle, or yell?  Yet again, I ask you, why does a mind wander?   Why do we ever give it the chance?
Sometimes I think I should tie a leash around mine, but then I would be afraid it would rebel and I would never get a chance to use it again.  
My poor mind would rebel, oh yes! it would.  It would grab its clothing and head off on adventures to places I would never know about.  
So, never mind.  Just leave a message, my mind has left me again.

This was just a musing. I had a long thought about the saying "her mind's wandering again." I had to think, where does it go?
