Dance of Dreams

Dreams can take you anywhere and let you see anything, but what happens when its heartbreak?

Dance around the roses
Dance around the thorns
The storm is coming from the west
From which my life was torn
The eastward wind haunts my sleep
As dreams of wraiths and ghouls
The wind blows
Haunting my every step
Dance around the lilies
Watch out for the storm
The flowers give you tranquility here
But your heart is torn.
The white gate swings
Its hinges old with rust
The cobble way is littered now with a lot of dust

Dance around the posies, lass
Always watch your step
The sky is grey
Your mood is haunted still today
Dance around the roses
But watch out for the thorns
The storm now blows
From the west
Where our lives were torn.

Author's Note

I really liked the rhythm of this but it is also and older poem. This one was written back in 2004 when I was in the hospital. I hope you enjoy it.

The imagery that you created was so precise and exquisite, making it a really vivid read. Like you, I also really liked the rhythm of this, and thought that it was really effective in keeping the balance and atmosphere of this piece.
