Unearthing Life 16

Unearthing Life 16

A Poem by Anand Sehgal

A pigeon that was sitting on a horizontal bar,

about a yard or so below the asbestos roof,

suddenly flew over the head .

The wind that came down from

the flapping wings

hit my neck to affirm the rigour

that an avian flight goes through

when the mercury soars high !

I wonder if the flying is worth the effort...
Reminds me of someone getting high...is the landing worth the flying?
I like where this write allowed me to go.

You captured this so well Anand. I could feel the speed and energy put into those wings so that avian friend could soar in the sky. So close it came too.

Thanks so very much Lydi. Glad that this write could connect with you ! :)
I am smiling at this! You write in a serious, descriptive manner and I get a wonderful picture of you under the pigeon's down-draught! But it also has universal implications. I think it is actually a lovely poem.
